Every movement starts with a spark. For us, that spark was Sondra Johnson, BSN. As a nurse, Sondra didn't just see patients; she saw the quiet struggles of families in her community. She saw mothers weeping because they were forced to "co-sleep" in dangerous conditions simply because they didn't have a crib. She saw the fear in a father's eyes when he realized his newborn was sleeping on a pile of blankets on the floor.

Sondra couldn't just walk away and "do her job." She realized that medical care doesn't end at the hospital doors; it continues in the home, in the very environment where a baby spends 16 to 18 hours a day sleeping.

To this day, Sondra still personally purchases all the cribs for the families we serve.

Let that sink in. A dedicated nurse, using her own hard-earned income, ensures that a stranger’s baby has a safe mattress and four sturdy walls to sleep within. It is an act of pure, radical compassion. But as the word has spread, our mission has grown from a local effort into a nationwide movement.

We have reached a turning point. What began as a personal mission is now a national call for help. The requests for cribs are pouring in from every corner of the country. Families are reaching out from rural towns and major cities alike, all with the same heart-wrenching plea: "Help me keep my baby safe."

The need is growing faster than one person, even someone as dedicated as Sondra, can possibly sustain.

Many of these tragedies are entirely preventable. When a family is in financial hardship, they often resort to:

• Couches or Armchairs: Extremely dangerous surfaces where a baby can easily become wedged or suffocate.
• Co-sleeping in adult beds: Where heavy blankets, pillows, and the weight of an adult pose significant risks.

That matters because infants need a firm, flat sleep surface to reduce the risk of suffocation and other sleep-related dangers. We want families to know they are receiving not just a crib, but a complete, safe sleep setup they can trust from day one.

A crib is only safe if it is used correctly. Along with every crib, we provide intensive education on safe-sleep practices. We teach the "ABC's of Safe Sleep":

• A - Alone: The baby should always sleep alone in their crib.
• B - Back: The baby should always be placed on their back to sleep.
• C - Crib: The baby should sleep in a safety-approved crib or bassinet, free of toys, blankets, or bumpers.

Our education resources are designed to empower parents with the knowledge they need to protect their children.
